幼少期に映画TWISTERを視聴し、自然や宇宙に興味を持つ
大学では物理学、大学院では電波天文学を学び、授業や研究の傍らに、
米国でのストームチェイスのための下準備
英語、気象学、現地生活の慣れ、現役チェイサーとの交流に注力
2022年よりカンザス州カンザスシティを拠点にストームチェイス開始
オクラホマ州タルサを拠点にセカンドストームチェイス敢行した際に
2024年4月26日 日本人チェイサーとして単独で竜巻を初観測

Yuya Misu
1996 Born in Gifu Prefecture, Japan.
I became interested in nature and space after watching the movie “TWISTER” as a child.
Studied physics at university, radio astronomy at graduate school, and Preparation for storm chasing at US.
Focused on English, meteorology, familiarization with local life, and interaction with current chasers.
Start storm chasing in Kansas City, Kansas in 2022
Started second storm chase based in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2024
First solo observation of a tornado as a Japanese chaser on April 26, 2024 (EF3 Lincoln)

「Midwestern Storm Trackers」通称MSTは、
アメリカ中西部を中心に、荒天の最前線からリアルタイムで情報を発信するストームチェイサーグループです。
単に嵐を追いかけるだけではなく、情報を必要としている人々へ迅速に届けることに大きな使命感を持っています。
訓練されたチェイサーが嵐の現場から詳細な状況を国立気象局NWSに報告することで、予測の精度向上と警戒情報の強化に貢献。
同時に、ライブストリーム配信や高品質な写真・動画を通じて嵐の様子を一般の皆さんへ分かりやすく伝え、
迅速な避難判断や安全確保の一助となることを目指しています。
MSTの活動は、活動は常に安全を最優先しながら行われており、
単なる「嵐の追跡」という枠を超え、地域社会の安全を守るための重要な役割を担っています。
Midwestern Storm Trackers, commonly known as MST,
is a group of storm chasers that provides real-time information from
the front lines of stormy weather around the Midwest.
Our mission is to not only track storms, but to deliver information quickly to those who need it.
Trained chasers report detailed conditions from the storm scene to the National Weather Service NWS,
helping to improve forecast accuracy and enhance warning information.
At the same time, the MST aims to communicate storm conditions to the public in an easy-to-understand manner through
live-streaming and high-quality photos and videos, helping to make quick evacuation decisions and ensure safety.
MST's activities go beyond mere “storm tracking,” as its activities are always conducted with safety as the top priority,
and it plays an important role in protecting the safety of the community.
